Venefian

The voices of the Gods, the wise, the children of Ehanfi

“We Venefian are closest to the Gods not because they favor us, but because we were shaped to withstand their voices.”
-Aylair the Warmonger, second High Priestess of the Empire

The Venefian are a forest-dwelling race whose existence is insperably bound to the living God Ehanfi. Unlike other races that were created and then released into autonomy, the Venefian were born into ongoing communion; their god is not distant-it is present, growing, and watching. In Venefian belief, they are not servants of the Gods nor chosen above others by the Gods. Instead, they are branches of a greater whole. Individuality exists, but never in isolation.

Being so closely tied with Ehanfi gives them the ability to understand divine presence. Thus, the Venefian ultimately became other Gods’ favored race to communicate to. During the Age of Empire, the High Priests lead not only Venefigus but also the Empire’s religious affairs.
