Ulfhar
The invincible, the hunters, the children of Helvarr
Quote
The Ulfhar are one of the six sentient races inhabiting Ederav and are widely considered the most powerful. According to the Holy Scripture of Ath-Einhaf, the Ulfhar were created by the hunt God Helvarr from wolves.
The Ulfhar are renowned for their skills as hunters, warriors, and weapon-makers. While their technological advancements in warfare have not progressed as rapidly or extensively as those of the Varkrys or the Sethri, they demonstrate exceptional battle strategy and martial prowess. Their physical strength often surpasses that of other races in Ederav; a seasoned Ulfhar warrior can defeat a rugha.
Origins
The Holy Scripture of Ath-Einhaf states that the Ulfhar was created by the Hunt God Helvarr during the late Age of Green – which, scholars agree, would be around 25,000 BE to 20,000 BE. The cave paintings depicting wolves that transformed into bipeds in the snowy land above could be found in the Hall of the Second Ancestors in Last Crypt, Thospeiros, which was in line with the scripture’s wording.
The reformed bipedal wolves took the snowy mountain of southern Ederav as their home, prospering from the dense taiga and the endless game to hunt. Like the Varkrys, these newly formed bipedal wolves are also nocturnal – thus, contact was quite frequent, with a few cave paintings depicting them hunting together and the Ulfhar studying and mimicking their hierarchical system.
It was the Varkrys themselves who named them Ulfhar; the word came from the Ahul (wolf) and Fa’har (Mighty).
Physical Characteristics
The Ulfhar are tall and fair-skinned – the second-tallest race in Ederav, right after the Venefian – with fine, fair blonde hair. The Ulfhar are often described as ‘as handsome as they are strong’ by other races of Ederav. Like the Venefian, they have elongated ears. Their eyes ranged from ice blue to pale grey to pale amber.
