Lady Farelya Arhelunei was the first wife of King Sohan II Ardeyi of Phyrozes and now the wife of Lord Almazarros Aleran of Last Crypt. Shortly after the birth of her only surviving daughter, Mareya who died after three days — Farelya and Sohan’s marriage was annulled, as it became clear there would be no further heirs. The annulment was approved by Emperor Icairros Alzari. Soon after, Lord Almazarros Aldehar petitioned to marry Farelya, and the match was permitted, as custom encouraged nobles to remarry following an annulment to prevent crisis.
Farelya had been sickly and frail since she was a child. From the beginning, her mother, Lady Leviera Aredyres, had pleaded to her husband, Lord Derin Arhelunei, to have Farelya wed to a second son or a wealthy merchant ‘who would value her happiness more than what her womb could bear’. However, Lord Derin insisted that Farelya would be the one matched with lords, as Liorei was the youngest, and the eldest children should have higher priorities in being matched with a nobleman.
Lord Derin Arhelunei arranged a match between Farelya and then-prince Sohan Ardeyi. It was said that Farelya wept in pain during her wedding night with Sohan, and her cries could be heard throughout the hallways of Rughavar.
Appearance
Farelya is slim and frail, with small breasts and narrow hips. When she was younger, she would dress herself in her brother’s garments and pretended to be a boy. It stopped after she flowered.
Farelya has long, straight white hair that grew thinner with each miscarriage she had. She has tanned golden skin common to the Traxei and pale blue eyes. Farelya is said to have a permanent frown after her first stillborn son was born.
Records have stated her as ‘beautiful, but a little too frail; like a dying flower waiting to be plucked.’ As a child, Farelya was sickly and meek. Her frequent sickness caused her features to look a little gaunt.
History
Early life
Lady Farelya Arhelunei was the eldest daughter of Lord Derin Arhelunei and his wife, Lady Leviera Aredyres. When Leviera was pregnant with Farelya, her father, Lord Kaher Aredyres, passed away. Leviera’s pregnancy at that time was too advanced for her to travel and Kaher was buried without her presence, causing her a massive distress and Farelya’s premature birth.
Since her childhood, Farelya has been sickly and feeble; she was slow to grow, slow to walk, and slow to talk. She had missed many banquets due to illnesses and she was late to flower. She bonded with no Rugha and was too weak to ride one.
