The Illustrious Alzari of Vaherdal is the most ancient house in Ederav. House Alzari was formed by King Zaerros of Thospeiros in 4,320 BE. After the formation of the Empire, the house branched to two; Imperial Alzari and Alzari of Thospeiros. House Alzari is famous of their lawmaking.

Trait and Culture

Many members of House Alzari can be distinguished by their consistent physiognomy across thousands upon thousands of years worth of generations, a phenomenon widely attributed to the house’s exceptionally dominant genetic lineage. The descendants of House Alzari exhibit a narrow range of physical traits, most notably the characteristic void-black eyes traditionally associated with Vaherdal, as well as consistent facial structure, stature, bone-white skin, and pitch-black hair that they keep long.

House Alzari’s dominance in genetics was resulted from Zaerros. In pursuit to bring the Kingdom of Thospeiros to its greatest glory, Zaerros build hundreds of buildings in his land and offered the greatest spire of Thospeiros as the first formal temple dedicated to Vaherdal, which was later named Vaherdal’s sight. This appeased Vaherdal greatly, who responded to this offering by granting a portion of his divine blood to Zaerros and his descendants.

The members of House Alzari would wear black, red, and gold. Throughout their long history, both the head of the house and their heir would don white veil to cover their head. It was unclear on who started the tradition, but it remains until the present day.

House Alzari predominantly worships the God Vaherdal. They also worship Mayathi as Vaherdal’s true consort and would dedicate gems and crystals around Vaherdal’s shrines as a homage to Mayathi. The members of the house are open to worshipping other Gods during their own time of need; such as praying to Helvarr before hunting or to Anathia before sailing.

Crimson Sanctuary, their ancestral seat, is the capital of Thospeiros. The cavern entrance to Crimson Sanctuary leads to the Burgundy Port and the Blood Market. The city generates a handsome amount of coins from people going in and out to trade and thus, House Alzari is one of the wealthiest houses in Ederav. As per Vierros Alzari’s reign as the Emperor of Ederav, forty percent of its wealth goes to the Empire to fund Equilibrium Utopia.

Overview

The Beginning

House Alzari, the first house, traces its origin to Zaerros, a descendant of King Thospeiros, the first ruler of the Varkrys and the namesake of the kingdom itself.

Zaerros was not only a king, but also a lawgiver among the Varkrys. He established the principle that one’s name carries one’s legacy – a mark that must be preserved and recorded. It was he who decreed the law of “a name after a name”, allowing identity and lineage to survive beyond flesh. Every marriage, every inheritance, and every Varkrys child was to be written in stone.

The surname Alzari came from Vaherdal and Zaerros’ own name. In time, other Varkrys families followed suit, adopting the Al- prefix as a mark of faith in Vaherdal and as the distinction from the then-nameless bloodlines of other races. Varkrys not born of noble blood also adapted the same naming structure, using their forebears’ names after the prefix in the early times.

The Birth of Crimson Sanctuary

Under the reign of Zaerros, the once modest fort of the Varkrys of land grew into the legendary Crimson Sanctuary, the first true city of Thospeiros. It was said that Zaerros expanded ‘a thousandfold’, carving buildings from his rocky subterranean land and lined the walls with glowing veins of moon and sun crystals. The sanctuary’s highest spire, Vaherdal’s Sight, was built piercing out of the rocky terrain of Thospeiros’ entry. During the Varkrys’ colonization of the Traxei, the slaves of House Alzari would descend down from the skies with their rugha to return home through Vaherdal’s Sight.

The Structure of Rule

By Auxarros Alzari’s decree, House Alzari rules both the throne of Thospeiros and the the imperial throne of Ederav. There is a clear division between two branches, should they descend from the same parent: The elder line holds the imperial throne, and the younger line rules as kings of Thospeiros.

If the Emperor or Empress dies or abdicates without heir, the firstborn of the Thospeirosathur King inherits the empire. Simultaneously, if the King or Queen of Thospeiros pass or abdicates without heir, the Emperor’s second child takes the crown.

The House Today

House Alzari remains the axis mundi of Ederav, the pivot upon which every kingdom turns.

Their voices decide the course of history, their archives hold the names of men and women who had shaped laws, cultures, and history, an their blood has ruled Thospeiros since the beginning of the kingdom.

Notable Members

House Alzari has stood for over four thousand years and carried the names and legacy of thousands of its members. The name of each member – by blood, by marriages, or by slavery – are engraved in their endless walls of their palace. Several (but definitely not all) notable members of House Alzari are:

• Barros Alzari – The Fire King, the king who ordered Traxei subjugation and wedded Queen Hevaeth of Zi’fen.
• Nadheras Alzari – The Blood Matron. From her and Eran the Traxei came hundreds of Great Houses; most are extinct, a good few still standing.
• Oberros Alzari – The Faithful. from his oath, all Varkrys are subjected to monogamy.
• Aelirros Alzari – The Warrior, the ancestor of House Aleran.
• Rakairros Alzari – The Lawmaker, the ancestor of House Aleran.
• Deirros Alzari – The Architect, the mind behind the Deisegn Project.
• Thyras Alzari – The Forge Queen, the ancestor of House Alhadyr.
• Vaerros Alzari – The Historian, the ancestor of House Aldehar.
• Auxarros Alzari – The Father of the Empire, the first Emperor of Ederav.
• Helmeras Alzari – The Diplomat, the founder of the Order of Helmeras.
• Sereiras Alzari – Mother of Inventions, the Empress of Ederav after Auxarros. Was named as the Traitor to the Empire by her son, Hecarros Alzari.
• Hecarros Alzari – The Plague, ended over thirteen thousand bloodlines of Ederav.

Chattel

House Alzari has extensive wealth accumulated from thousands of years of existence. The house itself has eighty-seven vaults to house their wealth. Even their Hall of Gratification is also symbol of wealth itself. Crowns, jewels, and insignias have been commissioned by this house, and several statement pieces are:

• The Progenitor Crown: A crown that covers the whole face of the wearer, made of the names of houses and clans that descended from House Alzari (directly or otherwise) engraved from platinum and welded together.
