invocation / Darasahra

In the name of the night that watches,
va nahradhatur vielre serahum,
and the light that burns,
and the balance between them.

The first prayer

Praised be Vaherdal, the father of night and moon and endless stars. The wise, the true.
Praised be Elonie, the mother of sun and light, and the great endless skies. The warmth, the guidance.
And praised be Ehanfi, the merciful, the gracious. For without their breath there shall be no air.
We whisper to Mayathi, for within her arms we seek comfort after death takes us away from our great soil.
We bow to Anathia, for with her grace flows the water within us, to the lands and the seas and beyond.
And with the strength of Helvarr shall our endless path in life begin,
For when we return, we return with the pride of Marrakau’s.

The Judgement / Orunathur
  1. Beloved creations! To abandon you is to thirst after drinks, to be hungry after meals, and to be restless after sleep. It shall simply never be.
  2. For we created you not with intent, but with love.
  3. Worship us, you shall. Though not blindly, we ask of you. For when you have doubts upon us, doubt. That is within your right.
  4. Seek us not to pray in reverence, but in confusion. In grief, in sadness. When you lack and when you are lost, find us, and you will find a way.
  5. For no Gods despise their creations, even to the wretched in the eyes of those among you.
  6. And there be no love greater than Vaherdal’s love for his creations.
  7. Come to us not in fear, but in need. And when you need us not, fear not of your absence in our temples and in prayers, for we celebrate with you.
  8. We are within your steps, your hearts, your minds and your kindness to others.
  9. To live and enjoy life as we intend you to do is to worship us, and we have sought the chronicler and asked, “must they bow and bend and pray to us?”
  10. To that, our lord said, “love your creations as a parent loves a child,” and therefore we do, for we created you.
  11. We are your home.
  12. Once it was Elonie and Vaherdal, their footsteps aimless and eternal,
  13. Then Ehanfi followed, and we gave rocks a meaning.
  14. Vaherdal carved the first people with his own hands.
  15. Elonie created the sun, but understand that she did it not to shun you, but to welcome more of you.
  16. We created you different from each other so that you may know and aid each other.
  17. There is no lesser or better, the Gods love you the same,
  18. For you are a great joy in our heart.
  19. We are never far.
  20. And you will always be within our cradle.
  21. We shaped from our will a land for you, and we withdrew not in absence but in watchfulness, to guard what we love into becoming.
